Kalyan Hospital

Kalyan Hospital

Kalyan Hospital – Kuchai, Saraikela Kharsawan district, Arki, Khunti district
Dearth of specialists and non-availability of fully functional health care facility in Arki, Khunti District and Kuchai in Saraekela district has resulted in referrals of maternal and new-born cases and other patients with minor ailments to the district. Availability of services at Kalyan Hospital has resulted in decreased referrals at the district hospital thus improving access of services and utilization of government services. Thus, availability of services at Kalyan hospitals saves out of pocket expenditure of the neediest communities and improves universal health coverage.

An MoU between Deepak Foundation and Tribal Welfare Commissioner was done to strengthen health care services provided at Kalyan Hospital, Arki and Kuchai for developing the facility as First Referral Unit (FRU) in July – 2018. The MoU aimed at upgrading facilities to provide comprehensive health services apart from, training health staff to manage obstetric complications as well as the complications of the new-born; providing dental check-up and availability of Pathologist, Ophthalmologist, General Physician to the tribal population.
