Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Pariyojana (MKSP)

Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Pariyojana (MKSP) was initiated in the year 2013-2014 in two tribal blocks namely, Kawant and Naswadi of Chhota Udepur district, under State Rural Livelihood Mission. The program is supported by Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company, a body of District Rural Development Agency and includes 6000 tribal women farmers as beneficiaries of this program. The project is envisaged to increase the income of poor tribal women farmers by empowering them with knowledge on sustainable agricultural practices and aiming at reducing drudgery and ensuring food security.

The overall goal of this program is to create socio-economic empowerment of the poor small and marginal tribal women farmers.

The program works towards

  • Enhancing the productive participation of women in agriculture

  • Creating sustainable agricultural livelihood opportunities for women

  • Improving the skills and capabilities of women in agriculture to support farm and non-farm-based activities

  • Ensuring food and nutrition security at the household and community level
