The Foundation provides CSR consultancy services to several corporates since 2013 and also conducts needs assessment, baseline impact evaluation studies for various public and private organizations.
Mobile Library, Raigarh, Maharashtra
Mobile Library services were initiated in Roha, Raigarh district by the Foundation with the support of Deepak Nitrite Ltd. It was observed that Roha and Tahoja areas had high rate of school drop-outs and enrolled students had poor reading abilities. The project aims to improve children’s reading, cognitive, and intellectual ability.
Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Nandesari
Since 1996, Deepak Foundation has been supporting and supervising activities of 40 Anganwadi Centers (AWC) under ICDS scheme of Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Gujarat. Currently,the Foundation has been allocated 65 AWCs. The Foundation endeavors to ensure reduction in malnutrition, improvement in developmental profile, and treatment to children with severe chronic disorders.
Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Halol
Deepak Foundation in partnership with RPG Foundation is running 2 projects, Jeevan and Saksham in 8 Villages for ICDS. Jeevan project focuses on non-formal preschool education, nutritional food supplements, health and nutritional checkups, and referral to public health centers for medical care. The goal of Saksham project is to empower women in villages by enhancing their income generation capacity through enterprise development while contributing to improve nutrition status of 1200 children in schools around Halol.
Village development program,Madhya Pradesh
Deepak Foundation conducted need assessment and rapid rural assessment of specific villages of Dhar and Ujjain districts of Madhya Pradesh. As per the need assessment, the Foundation with the support of ReNew power concluded that there is a need to focus on women empowerment, community health and sanitation, safe drinking water, and capacity building of the community for agriculture techniques and animal husbandry practices.
Home Health Aide course
Deepak Foundation under the affiliation of Healthcare Sector Skill Council and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) conducts nationally approved Home Health Aide (HHA) course in Vadodara and Hyderabad. The 3-month certification course provides an opportunity for an individual in rural, tribal, and urban area to work as caretakers in hospitals, nursing homes, and multi-specialty hospital.
Help Desk, SSG hospital, Vadodara
In 2006, Deepak Foundation in partnership with the S.S.G. hospital established a 24×7 Help Desk above the casualty unit to provide quality health care to referrals and critical cases requiring tertiary care. The Help Desk was established as several of the referred cases could not get timely care, returned unattended or refused treatment as per medical advice. The Help Desk played a key role in ensuring timely services to the patients referred from rural and tribal areas and saved lives of around 7000 cases successfully in last several years.
Mobile Health Unit (MHU)
In 2007, first MHU was initiated with the Department of Health and Family Welfare. Currently, the Foundation has operationalized 12 MHU with the support of government as well as various corporate partners in Gujarat,Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand. MHU functions with the aim of providing affordable, accessible, and quality healthcare to unreached and under-privileged rural and tribal areas.
Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (CEmONC), Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand
CEmONC is one of the unique free-of-cost, sustainable, and longest partnership models in India. Deepak Foundation has been successfully operating 55 bedded CEmONC unit at Jabugam since 2006-7. The success later has led the Foundation to replicate the CEmONC unit in tribal areas of Madhya Pradesh (since 2016) and Jharkhand (since 2017).
Deaddiction & Counselling Centre, Hyderabad
Deepak Foundation in partnership with Deepak Nitrite Ltd. has initiated a deaddiction centre in Hyderabad with a vision of providing counselling and rehabilitation services for the people addicted to alcoholism and substance abuse in urban areas. An addiction control committee with 7 members has been formed. The centre regularly organises different events and cultural programs in the slums to disseminate information on de-addiction.
Nutrition project, Bharuch
In order to reduce malnutrition, an intervention strategy that effectively addresses the barriers to utilization of health and nutrition services is necessary. A Nutrition project has been implemented in Bharuch to address the issue of under-nutrition. The integrated approach will entail the following:
Water conservation & environment management, Panchmahal
In Panchmahal district of Gujarat, water availability for irrigation is erratic. However, major occupation of the population of the villages in inner blocks of Halol and Kalol is agriculture. 200 villages in Halol & Kalol blocks of Panchmahal are mainly rain fed with only few villages adopting irrigation techniques. This project addresses the issue through activities that can demonstrate models for effective irrigation, namely (farm) ponds for water recharge and plantation to creating a green environment.
